Voter Instructions

Everything you need to vote securely, from your code to your receipt.

How voting works

  1. Step 1

    Verify your student email

Open Votify and enter your registered student email address. This confirms you are an eligible voter for your residence's election.

  2. Step 2

    Use your single-use voting code

You will have received a single-use voting code from your residence election team. Enter this code exactly as provided. Each code can only be used once and is tied to your residence — it cannot be shared or reused.

  3. Step 3

    Confirm your residence

Votify will display the residence you are registered to vote in. Confirm it is correct before continuing. This ensures your ballot is counted in the right election.

  4. Step 4

    Select your candidates

Review the candidate list and select the candidates you wish to vote for. You must select at least one candidate, and you cannot exceed the maximum number of positions for your residence.

  5. Step 5

    Review your selections

Before submitting, you will see a summary of your chosen candidates. Take a moment to check them carefully — a submitted ballot is final and cannot be changed.

  6. Step 6

    Submit and save your receipt

Submit your ballot. You will receive a confirmation receipt with a unique reference number. Keep this receipt as proof that your vote was recorded.

Good to know

Your vote is anonymous

Your identity is checked separately from your ballot. There is no link between who you are and how you voted.

Watch the clock

Each residence has its own voting window. If your session expires before you submit, simply re-enter your code to start a fresh session — an expired session does not count as a vote.

One ballot only

Each eligible voter may vote once per election. Once your ballot is submitted, you cannot vote again, change your choices, or resubmit.
